Who we help

Families like yours

The long-distance caregiver

You're in Ohio, Mom is in Florida, and every appointment feels out of reach. We help prepare for each visit, follow up afterward, and keep the whole family in the loop.

The new diagnosis

A diagnosis brings a flood of specialists, tests, and decisions. We organize your care team, explain your options in plain language, and help you ask the right questions.

The insurance maze

Denied claims, surprise bills, confusing coverage. We make the calls, gather the paperwork, and follow up until it's resolved, so you don't have to.

Our story

Built by real people. For real people.

Healthcare has become complicated.

For patients and families, navigating doctors, specialists, medications, insurance, appointments, and everyday challenges can feel overwhelming. And sometimes, the things standing between a person and better health aren't medical at all.

That's why Aura exists.

We believe people deserve someone who takes the time to listen, understand what they're going through, and help them figure out what comes next.

Our Patient Advocates provide personalized support by phone, text, and email, helping people navigate healthcare, connect with resources, and work through the challenges that can affect their health and well-being.

With more than 30 years of healthcare industry leadership behind us, we're building Aura to be something different: not bigger just for the sake of being bigger, and not another healthcare machine.

We're building something sustainable.
Something meaningful.
Something real.

Real People. Real Relationships. Real Advocacy. That's Aura.

Your questions answered

Everything you need to know

General questions

What does a patient advocate do?

Your advocate is your personal guide through the healthcare system. We schedule and prepare for appointments, coordinate between doctors, help you understand diagnoses and options, and work through insurance and billing issues on your behalf.

Will I always work with the same person?

Yes. You're matched with one dedicated advocate who gets to know you, your history, and your preferences.

Can family members be involved?

Absolutely. With your permission, we keep loved ones informed, which is especially helpful for adult children who live far away.

Do you work with clients outside Florida?

Yes. Our office is in Florida, but we serve clients nationwide by phone, text, and email, coordinating with your doctors and insurers wherever you live.

Medicare & your costs

Will I have to pay anything for Aura Advocacy services?

Your cost depends on your specific Medicare coverage and insurance plan. We will help you understand your benefits and any potential out-of-pocket costs.

I have Medicare. Will I have to pay 20%?

Not necessarily. If you have Original Medicare, you may generally be responsible for 20% of the Medicare-approved amount for covered Part B services after applicable deductibles and requirements are met.

If you have a Medicare Advantage plan, your costs are determined by your specific plan. You may have a copay, coinsurance, deductible, or other cost-sharing requirement.

What if I have Medicare Advantage?

Medicare Advantage plans have their own cost-sharing rules. Depending on your plan and the services you receive, you may have a copay, coinsurance, deductible, or other out-of-pocket responsibility.

Your Patient Advocate can review your coverage with you during your first visit and help you understand what may apply to you.

What if I have Medicare and Medicaid?

If you have Medicare and Medicaid, Medicaid may help cover some or all of the costs that Medicare does not cover, depending on your Medicaid eligibility and coverage.

For many patients with Medicare and Medicaid, there may be little or no out-of-pocket cost for covered services.

What if I have Medicare and a Medicare Supplement plan?

If you have Original Medicare and a Medicare Supplement (Medigap) plan, your supplemental coverage may help pay some of the costs that Medicare does not cover.

Depending on your specific plan, you may have little or no out-of-pocket cost for covered services.

What if I have Medicare and other secondary insurance?

If you have Medicare along with secondary insurance, your secondary coverage may help pay some or all of the remaining cost after Medicare pays its portion.

Your actual responsibility depends on your specific insurance plans and the services provided.

What if I cannot afford my portion?

We understand that healthcare costs can be a concern. Financial assistance options may be available for patients who qualify.

Your Patient Advocate can discuss available options with you and help determine whether you may qualify.

Who can explain my coverage and costs?

Your Patient Advocate can review your insurance information with you during your first visit. They can help explain your coverage, discuss potential copays or coinsurance, and review financial assistance options if you qualify.

Our goal is to make sure you understand your coverage and know what to expect before you receive services.
